Amazon FBA

Step 1: Pick the products to send

Pick the products you want to send to Amazon. Make sure they are properly packaged and labeled to avoid any delays. You need to check that each of your products has a scannable FNSKU barcode and that your packaging meets Amazon's standards.

Step 2: Confirm shipping

Go to your Amazon Seller Central account and create a shipping plan by adding product details, quantity, and destination. Amazon will automatically pick the best warehouse locations for you.

Step 3: Print box labels

After that, Amazon provides you with unique FNSKU barcodes and shipping labels. You need to print that and attach it correctly to each box to ensure proper tracking and avoid misplaced inventory.

Step 4: Confirm carrier and pallet information

Once your products are labeled and packed, the next step is selecting the right shipping method to send them to Amazon’s fulfillment centers.

Pick a shipping option that works best for your products:

  • Amazon Partnered Carrier (UPS, FedEx) – This method is cost-effective for small to medium shipments.

  • Freight (LTL/FTL Shipping) – This is ideal for large shipments on pallets. Ensure that your palletized shipments meet Amazon’s guidelines.

If using pallets, you need to make sure you follow Amazon’s rules:

  • Use standard 40” x 48” pallets.

  • Keep pallet weight under 1,500 lbs and height under 72 inches.

  • Stack boxes evenly and wrap them securely with plastic.

Enter all shipping details in Amazon Seller Central to get the correct labels and tracking info.

Step 5: Ship the products to Amazon

Once your products are packed and labeled, take them to your chosen carrier or schedule a pickup. If you’re using an Amazon partnered carrier, you’ll get discounted rates and seamless tracking. For large shipments, ensure pallets meet Amazon’s size and weight guidelines.

Here, you can find partnered carrier options for FBA shipments:

  • UPS (United Parcel Service)

  • Amazon Freight (For LTL & FTL Shipments)

  • Partnered LTL & FTL Carriers (Amazon-Approved)

After shipping, track your order in Amazon Seller Central under 'Manage FBA Shipments' to check its progress. Look out for updates like 'In Transit,' 'Delivered,' and 'Checked-In' to know when your inventory is ready for sale.

On the other hand, you can also choose the Amazon seller account management service, where they handle shipment plans and shipping labels, making sure your products reach Amazon warehouses safely. They also track and verify delivery for a smooth process.

What happens after your shipment arrives at Amazon?

Amazon’s receiving and check-in process:

When your shipment arrives at Amazon, they check it in and process it.

  • Amazon scans the barcodes to log your inventory into their system.

  • They check the packaging and labels to make sure everything meets their requirements.

  • Your products are then stored in Amazon’s fulfillment centers, ready for customer orders.

How to track your inbound inventory status:

You can track your shipment in Seller Central > Inventory > Manage FBA Shipments. Here’s what each status means:

  • In transit: Your shipment is on the way to Amazon.

  • Delivered: Amazon has received the shipment at its warehouse.

  • Checked in: Amazon has started processing your inventory.

  • Receiving complete: All units have been processed and are available for sale.
