Amazon is rolling out a major update to product title requirements to optimize listings for mobile shoppers. Because every character counts on a smaller screen, Amazon is shortening allowed title lengths and introducing a new feature called Item Highlights to keep key product details prominent and searchable.
The Key Changes
75-Character Title Limit: Titles in all categories (excluding Media) must be 75 characters or less (including spaces). This ensures your product name fully displays on mobile screens without being cut off.
Introducing Item Highlights: To compensate for shorter titles, you now have an additional 125 characters under "Item Highlights" to showcase materials, key features, or recommended use cases. This section is fully searchable and appears directly below your title in search results and on detail pages.
What Happens If You Don't Update?
After July 27, any product titles that still exceed 75 characters will be automatically and gradually updated to an AI-recommended version generated by Amazon. Your listings will remain active during this transition, and you can still manually edit them at any time.
How to Update Your Listings Now (Using Amazon’s AI Tools)
Amazon has already provided AI-generated recommendations that trim your titles to 75 characters while moving the remaining crucial data into the Item Highlights section.

Go to Manage All Inventory in Seller Central and locate the listing you want to update.
Select Edit from the drop-down menu on the right.
