Amazon Offers Coupon Fee Reimbursement for New FBA Products

Amazon has announced a limited-time offer that could help sellers save money while boosting sales for new products.

What is the offer?

From now until January 31, 2025, Amazon will automatically reimburse the $0.60-per-redemption coupon fee for coupons applied to newly launched FBA products. This applies to products that first became buyable after November 2, 2024, giving sellers an incentive to use coupons to promote new products.

How does this affect you?

  • Lower costs for coupons: You can run coupon campaigns without worrying about the $0.60 redemption fee, which adds up if you plan to target high sales volumes.

  • Easier early sales: Coupons are a proven way to boost discoverability and sales conversion, especially for new products that lack reviews. This offer reduces the cost barrier for trying this strategy.

  • Automatic reimbursements: You don’t need to take any extra steps—eligible reimbursements will be credited to your Seller Central account by February 28, 2025.

Tips to make the most of this opportunity

  • Prioritize new product launches: If you’ve recently launched new products (or plan to), this is the time to use coupons. They’re now cost-effective and can help you build initial momentum.

  • Highlight competitive pricing: Coupons signal value to customers and can help you compete in crowded categories. Pair coupons with compelling product pricing to stand out.

  • Create strategic coupon campaigns: Use attractive coupon discounts (e.g., 10–15%) to incentivize purchases while maintaining margins. Ensure the discount reflects value but doesn’t overly eat into profits.

  • Leverage the “no sales history” rule: Amazon is waiving the usual requirement of a sales history to run coupons for new products. This means you can kick off campaigns right after launching a product.

  • Track performance metrics: While the fee is reimbursed, monitor your coupon campaigns for ROI. Use data like click-through rates and conversion rates to adjust your approach.

By taking advantage of this limited-time reimbursement, you can reduce the financial risk of using coupons while maximizing the visibility and sales of your new products. For more details, head to the Create a Coupon section in your Seller Central account.
